    1. A few personal words on the pandemic 😷 Bea and I have held still for pretty much the entire year, leaving it to experts to get us out of it (while leaving them room to err). There’s some growing “civil disobedience” around us, however, prompting us to take more action.

    1) We’ve begun to reprimand covidiots in public, in no uncertain terms. If you’re not holding your distance or are not wearing a mask, or not correctly, expect a response. You are free to gamble on your health, but not on anyone else’s. (This is linked.)

      2) We’ve also started to contact businesses that don’t enforce strict health standards in their branches, whether that’s about admitting customers who don’t (fully) wear masks, or allowing employees not to correctly wear them, either. We consider alerting authorities right away.

Personally, it’s been a long, monotonous, exhausting year, but we’ve been well so far, and we’re grateful. We’ve also been empathetic for a long time, empathetic that some fellow people face harsher challenges. Yet at some point, now, it’s enough.

For months now it feels like this whole $#%1 never ends because some here—everywhere—feel like the rules would not apply to them, that they were better than others, that they were immune, that this was a joke, or that they wouldn’t need to protect but may even harm others.

No: The rules apply to everyone, no one is better, and this, a year in, is still not a joke—it’s a pandemic. We can only get through this together. Join who have worked not to get sick or get others sick. Of whom more please don’t accept “pandemic disobedience.” Sigh. 🌏
