    1. Spent a couple of hours optimizing social markup. @WhatsApp and @signalapp still with problems detecting “og:image” if not in quotes. Also, @LinkedIn not finding social markup if there’s no <head> tag. Both is valid HTML. Our field can be so pathetic.

    Why pathetic? Because EVERYONE says they know HTML, while not a handful do. Barely a website even uses the correct syntax. And then, like here, we have peers who only know XHTML–HTML (not HTML–HTML)—and botch it for everyone developing for their software. Take HTML seriously.
